Privacy Policy

Propaso is a walking app. It builds a daily step plan from your own activity, tracks how you get on, and unlocks partner-brand discounts as you level up. This policy says what we collect, why, where it goes and how to delete it.
1. Who we are
Propaso is operated by Ideina IO Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17470309, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom). We are the data controller. Contact: alexpatto1@gmail.com.
2. What stays on your phone
Most of what Propaso knows about you is held in a database on your device and never sent anywhere:
- Apple Health history — steps, walking pace and speed, active and resting energy, stand hours; and, if Health has them, your weight, age and sex (used for calorie estimates and walking-speed norms for your age group).
- Your plan and scores — the goal you typed, targets, level, weekly scores, Movement and Progression scores, and your insights.
- Your Ask questions and answers, so you can scroll back through them.
All of it is removed when you delete the app or your account.
3. What leaves your phone
Each item below is tied to a feature. Our servers run on Amazon Web Services in Stockholm (EU).

4. Permissions
- Apple Health — required; Propaso does not work without it. We read only, never write.
- Motion & Fitness — a live step count that updates instantly.
- Notifications — optional.
- Calendar — optional; only if you add your walks to your calendar. The app checks when you are busy, on your phone, to place walks around your events, and writes them to a Propaso calendar it creates. It only ever changes events it created, and nothing from your calendar leaves your phone.
- Photos — optional; only to set a profile photo.
- Face ID — optional. Your username and password are kept in your phone's Keychain so you can sign back in without typing them. Face ID data never leaves your device.
5. AI features
Five features send your figures to Anthropic's Claude, which writes the text you see: building your plan, Get insights, Ask, the weekly insight, and the Movement Score explanation. The app asks your permission before the first one, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings — those features then stop; the rest of the app is unaffected.
What is sent is aggregated: daily, hourly, weekly and monthly step averages, activity minutes, calorie estimates, your scores, plan and targets, your weight if Health has it, the country you compare yourself against, the goal you typed and the question you asked. Your name, username and email are never included. Anthropic uses it only to produce the result and does not train its models on it.
Results are held on our server for up to two days, linked to your account, so the app can collect them if it was closed while they were being written; then they are deleted automatically. Ask questions are also logged without any account identity, so we can see what people ask and spot misuse.

6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Providers that process it on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, accounts and database (Stockholm, EU).
- Anthropic — the AI provider (section 5).
- Expo — app updates and push-notification delivery.
- Sentry (EU servers) — crash reports: the technical details of a failure, device model, iOS and app version, and a random installation identifier. No IP address, account or health data.
- Resend — emails your feedback and any reports to us.
- Awin — the affiliate network behind reward links; brand logos on the Rewards page load from Awin. It learns that a visit came from Propaso, not who you are (Terms, section 8).
- Apple — the App Store, payments for Propaso Plus, and Apple Health on your device.
- Squarespace — hosts propasohealth.com (section 10).
Other users see only what Friends is for: people you have added, and who accepted, see your username, photo, level, today's steps and your scores. Anyone signed in can find your username when searching for someone to add. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.

8. How long we keep it
- On your phone: until you delete the app or your account.
- Account, friends and weekly scores: while your account exists.
- Live progress figures: overwritten each time; only the latest is kept.
- AI results: two days. Anonymous Ask log: kept; it cannot be linked to you.
- Blocks: until you unblock (Settings › Profile › Blocked users) or delete your account. Reports: kept after review so repeat reports can be seen together; they hold only usernames, the reason and your note.
9. Your rights and deleting everything
You can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, ask for a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. Email alexpatto1@gmail.com; we reply within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Delete your account in the app under Settings › Profile › Delete account. This permanently removes your account, friendships, stars, likes, weekly scores, live figures, blocks, notification token and photo from our servers, and wipes the app's data from your phone. It cannot be undone. Reports you made or received stay as a moderation record, and the anonymous Ask log is not linked to you.
You can revoke Apple Health access without deleting your account: iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Propaso.
10. The website and cookies
propasohealth.com is separate from the app and never sees your account or health data. It is hosted on Squarespace, whose servers receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, and keep short-lived logs. We use Squarespace Analytics for aggregate visit counts — not Google Analytics or any advertising network.
The site sets required cookies (Squarespace's crumb form-protection cookie and your cookie-banner choice) and, only if you accept, analytics cookies (ss_cvr, ss_cvt) that tell a returning visitor from a new one. Declining changes nothing about how the site works. Clear the site's cookies to see the banner again. Squarespace is US-based and relies on the UK's approved transfer safeguards; its policy is at squarespace.com/privacy. There are no advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
11. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Passwords are managed by Amazon Cognito and never visible to us. Your health history stays on your device behind your passcode and Apple's protections. No system is perfectly secure, so we send off your device only what each feature needs.
12. Children
Propaso is not for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
